# vibe21-system-update

Raises tools that [vibe21-system-check](/docs/vibe21-system-check) reported as older than the pin. Newer than the pin stays as-is. Missing tools are not installed here.

## When to use it

Use it when the check reports a tool as older than the pin, or when the agent offers an update after a check and you confirm.

If a tool is missing, run [vibe21-system-install](/docs/vibe21-system-install) first.

## How to run it

```
/vibe21-system-update
```

The agent lists only the older tools and the versions they will move to, then waits. Nothing is updated until you confirm.

Homebrew and winget are best-effort — an exact pin is not guaranteed. Linux skips both.

## What happens

- Older tools move to the pin. Newer tools are left alone. The skill never downgrades.
- After the update, the check runs again.
- If something is still missing, the agent points you back to [vibe21-system-install](/docs/vibe21-system-install).
- If `gh` is not logged in, you run `gh auth login` yourself.

The pin is Active LTS for Node.js and stable releases for the rest. No Current, no RCs.
